Volcanic Lake Zipline Adventure in Managua

Compas de Nicaragua offers service trips to organizations, churches, and schools. Trips bring students and professionals to Nicaragua to work side by side Women in Action on community projects, live with host families, and experience the culture and natural beauty of Nicaragua. An all inclusive trip fee of $800 for groups of 6 to 8 participants, and $600 for groups of 9 or more participants, covers all room and board, in country travel, excursions and activities, trip guidance and translation, and a donation toward a group work project.

Service Learning and Community Projects Component

Service trips offer participants a variety of service projects with Women in Action. Projects include chicken coop building, gardening, and light construction. Participants are also offered the opportunity to participate in enrichment activities with women and children, including English and Spanish classes, arts and crafts, soy food preparation, and gourd art workshops.

Host Family Component

Participants live with host families and learn first hand about the realities of life in Nicaragua. Families welcome visitors into their homes and offer friendships that will last a lifetime.

Tourism and Excursions Component

Trips include excursions to a volcano, the Pacific Ocean, a craft market, organic coffee farm, and volcanic lake. Groups also visit schools, health clinics, museums, and other places of interest depending on participant's interest.
